Home Not So Sweet Home

Here is Arlington, land of Six Flags and stadiums |
Hello everyone! We made it to Texas. What a crazy last few
days it has been getting here. We have some pretty amazing stories though of
what the Lord did to get us where we are.
We had a quick and easy drive down, well everyone except
Quigley. He was pretty much a wreck the first ¾ of the trip. But, we got in to
Arlington earlier than we thought and headed to our townhouse. This is where it
gets interesting.
Outside the building was filled with trash and dilapidated buildings.
This was not quite the welcome to the neighborhood we were expecting. But, we
didn’t want to judge so we went inside. It didn’t get any better. Inside
wreaked of cat urine, the light fixtures had been stripped, the counters were
plastered in old crayons and nail polish, the tub was black, needless to say
the list went on and were not staying here.
Talk about a disheartening day. We thought this was what the
Lord had prepared for us. It looker perfect online and we even sent someone to
go look at it and they gave it the ok. That was a pretty though night. But, we
woke up in the morning and sought the Lord and He totally came through for us!
He clearly spoke that the place He allows us to get into is where He has us.
So, off we went to find an apartment and move in that day.
On our search we came across two places that would work. The
first was gorgeous and we really loved it. The second was nice and would fill
all of our needs, but didn’t feel like us. We liked the first place more, so we
went to go get everything we needed to move in. While we were in line to get
the money orders Kyle and I both felt sick to our stomachs. We knew the Lord
was saying this was not it. So, trying to obey what we thought He was speaking
we got the money orders for the second apartment and went back to the office.
When we arrived the manager set everything up and in less
than two hours we were ready to move in. We started moving less than four hours
after we found the apartment. It was the fastest move in he had ever done. The
Lord is truly faithful and blessed us more than we could have ever imagined in
ways that we obviously didn’t understand.
We have been praying for the Lord to move and it feels like
He is doing that more than we ever thought. On Sunday we went to Gateway and
encountered Him more than we have been recently. My parents have been here the
last few days and have just blown us away by how awesome they are and how
willing they are to help. They help us set up our entire house and just left
this morning. We were so sad to see them go, but are excited for things to
come.
Now that we are fully on our own we are excited to embrace
more of what the Lord is doing. We are expecting Him to show us in big ways as
He provides a job for me and continues to guide us through life as Texans.
Thanks for all of your support and we love all of you soooooo much!
